Well Done Good & Faithful Servant - Jackie Walorski
I wish that I could remember the 1st time I met Jackie Walorski. I don’t have that memory anywhere but I remember we connected very quickly.
Mike and I would periodically go to lunch with her. She always made time for us.
Our conversations were always very spirited. I loved listening to all of her aspirations for her political career. She would share with us that her brother wanted her to run for president so that he could spend the night at the White House.
I loved the stories that she would share before her political career. Jackie and Dean would serve the teens in Romania that lived in the sewer systems of that country. She shared how would fight to get these homeless teens the medicine that they needed and couldn’t get. Jackie would get the medicine, antibiotics, and such, and smuggle it to the teens by way of a McDonald's bag.
She was an amazing individual. My favorite memory will always be her finding me at Papa Vinos by the way of my laugh. If you have ever met me you know that I am by no means a quiet person, cool thing is, neither was Jackie. Mike and I were with another couple having lunch and I got to laughing. And in Jackie's form with her commanding voice and her big smile I hear from across the room "Becker, where are you ???? I know that you are here I can hear you laughing!!!"
Of course, she found me!!! We laughed even more and I of course was greeted with a big hug. I am smiling as I write this!!! I remember it as if it was yesterday!!!!
Jackie texted me the morning after Mike's passing. She was on vacation with Dean. She wanted me to know that she was thinking of me. I remember telling her to give Dean lots of extra hugs while they were on vacation and to make lots of memories. She promised that she would.
About a month later, I was sitting in my car at the grocery store when a team member reached out to me to share with me what she saw on the news. Jackie had taken it upon herself to honor Mike's life on the Congressional floor.
I couldn’t have been any prouder of Mike, and I couldn’t have been any more appreciative to Jackie.
If you listen you will hear hundreds and hundreds of stories of lives that were touched by Jackie. She was an amazing woman.
I am sure that when Jackie arrived in heaven Jesus greeted her with the words "Well Done Good and Faithful Servant" And right behind that, Michael was there with a big smile and a big hug and greeted her with a great big "HELLO GORGEOUS!"
Thank you Jackie for all that you did for our community and for our country!!! You will be sorely missed!!!
