God Gives and God Takes Away
We are all under the illusion that we have control of the things in our lives and the things that happen to us.
I am the biggest offender of this. I would say all the time, that I spent the first 13 years of Hello Gorgeous! Telling God how to run the calling on my life. LOL Like I had any say!!!!
God gives us things to stretch us and mold us into the person that he needs us to be. We can't see the whole picture but he can.
Just like Romans 8:27-28 says
"He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That is why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good."
It is really hard to swallow those words, especially when things do go the way that I think that they should go and life gets really hard.
I had a dream, for years, and I talked about it all of the time. We live 30 minutes from the RV capital of the world. Back in 2013 we only had 1 mobile day spa, a salon on wheels, and she was experienced.
My dream was that an RV company would step up and surprise me, and give my mobile day spa a makeover and there would be a woman that worked for that company that was battling cancer, and WE could surprise and give her a makeover. At a big event, they would reveal my bus and we would reveal the Gorgeous! Woman. How cool would that be?????
Well, that is what happened. It is the only day in my life that I can, say that I was completely speechless. This company went above and beyond. Not only did they make over my old bus, but then they donated a new one ~My true palace on wheels. It was more than I could have ever dreamed of. Take a peek at the video from that day.
This was something so amazing that only God could have orchestrated it.
In April 2017, the unthinkable happened. We had just returned home from a volunteer meeting when my phone rang. It was my mom and she was crying, so hard that I could not understand her. But I made out the words "THE BUS IS ON FIRE!"
Michael and I hopped in the car and headed to my mom’s. We pulled up to see my dream in flames. It was devastating to watch the firemen take an ax to the doors and the windshield to gain access to the vehicle to make sure that the fire was completely out.
2 months later in June of 2017, I lost Michael.
When I had time to catch my breath, I realized that God gives and God takes away. The bus was a gift from God. Michael was a gift from God. They were mine to enjoy while they were here but they were never really mine. They belonged to God.
How different would we look at things in our life, our children, our marriage, and our businesses, if we realized that everything that we have is a gift from God? And that God gives and God takes away but He will use it all for good.
Take a look at all of the gifts in your life and be grateful!!! Grateful for what you have today!!!!
