Podcast Guest Carly O’Laughlin
I was 52 when I heard the words, "you have cancer". It was hard enough then. I cannot imagine being a young girl at the age of 19, getting ready to start her sophomore year in college, her entire life in front of her, and then her world was rocked with a cancer diagnosis. Her life was now put on hold. Carly had to sit out a semester of school.
Instead of talking about football games and formal dances, she was talking to doctors about Chemotherapy and having her eggs harvested.
Carly is an amazing young woman that has found a way to be grateful for her cancer diagnosis.
Carly is in the Masters of Non-Profit Administration program at the University of Notre Dame. She reached out to us to see if you needed any help this summer and we have been blessed to have her on our team.
I have always said that you are healthy until you are not. Carly is a prime example of that. She actually thought that the pain that she was experiencing was due to moving into her dorm room. Until that moment she felt perfectly fine.
Listen to my interview with Carly to hear more about her diagnosis, how she dealt with the side effects of her treatment and where is she now.
