When I think of the band Kiss, I wonder what they went through to get to where they are today.
I am sure that they were not an overnight sensation. I can't even imagine the looks and the boo's that they received while they were trying to make a name for themselves.
And now KISS is known for their stage presence and their music.
It's the doctor's job to treat your cancer, it's my job to make sure you look good while you are going through it
My mom had to have a procedure at the hospital. It was an early day. I got out of bed at 3:30am, picked her up at 5:00 am and drove her to the hospital where the procedure was being done.
The doctors and nurses were great and my momβs procedure went well.
Podcast Guest Carly OβLaughlin
I was 52 when I heard the words, "you have cancer". It was hard enough then. I cannot imagine being a young girl at the age of 19, getting ready to start her sophomore year in college, her entire life in front of her, and then her world was rocked with a cancer diagnosis. Her life was now put on hold. Carly had to sit out a semester of school.
Do You Compare Yourself to Others?
I have a love hate relationship with social media. It seems to me that people display their Kodak moments not their real-life moments. I then look at their Kodak moments and compare my real-life moments to them and my real-life moments suffer by comparison.
Self-Care
A few weeks ago, for my podcast, I interviewed Justin Schenk, who is the host of Growth Now Movement. Justin sits down with top performers, celebrities and entrepreneurs and asks them questions about their success and asks them to share how they arrived at the point where they are.
Tell The Story
I was shocked when I was diagnosed with cancer. I was simply shopping at my local grocery store, in the frozen food section. My phone rang, I answered as I always do; "Hello Gorgeous! This is Kim, how can I help you?" It was my doctor on the other end of the phone explaining to me that the biopsy from my colonoscopy came back and it was cancer.
The Reason for a Random Act of Kindness
For more than 25 years my late husband and I celebrated our birthdays together. Our birthdays were 6 years and 1 day apart. We started celebrating our birthdays the morning of his birthday and stopped celebrating our birthdays the evening of my birthday. I always teased him and told him that God made our birthdays one day apart so that he would never forget my birthday.
A Letter to Michael on 3 Year Anniversary...
3 years ago, today our world changed forever. The unthinkable happenedβ¦β¦. you left us for the ultimate karaoke bar in the sky.
I really never thought that it was a possibility. We had our love story planned. You were going to live to be 96 and I was going to live to be 90 and we would die together in a fiery crash in our red Maserati going 120 MPH on the Audubon holding hands.
The Perfect Funeral
I planned a lot of things for Michael in our life together. I planned our wedding, he did help, but I did most of the planning. I planned a surprise trip to Puerta Vallarta for His 40th birthday. I surprised him with a party for his 40th and 50th birthdays. I planned the vacations the date nights you name it, I was the planner in the marriage and I enjoyed it.
